Happy 5th Birthday, QueerMentalHealth.org!

Wow, it’s been 5 years already since I created QueerMentalHealth.org!

QueerMentalHealth.org Needs to Move to Iceland

QueerMentalHealth.org is currently hosted on servers which reside in Canada. I am ready to migrate the website to a hosting company which is based in Iceland, a country which has some of the strictest privacy protections in the world. But QMH has never had a budget and does not receive donations (QMH is currently provided free hosting by one of our writers). In order to pay the costs for hosting, those funds must be raised. We need just under $200 to start an account with the new host, which would cover the first 3 years.

Technical Problems

Hi Readers, I’m sorry to say that we’re having technical problems right now, and won’t be able to post tomorrow’s scheduled post. I am hoping to resolve this quickly. Here’s hoping the latest article by Rhys will be up for Friday! Thanks for your patience, Hanners Blackthorne, Creator, QueerMentalHealth.org

Please welcome our new Editor — Starfish

The QueerMentalHealth team is growing. We’ve got lots of new writers joining us, and now, we have a new editor joining us as well. Starfish, who has been with us as a writer for some time, expressed their concern for the lack of maintenance on the website some time ago. They asked how they could be of help, and after discussing it, we decided they would make a great editor for the site.

Welcome to our new Editor – Katie Bongiorno

I’m sure you’ve noticed a lack of articles being published for the last 6 months. Life has been hectic, especially with my wedding being planned. I’m now getting back into the swing of things though, and we’ll be seeing more articles going up. Good thing too, because there are a lot of submissions in the queue! (I want to thank all my writers for being so patient with me!)

On “Vacation”

Hey All, I’ve recently moved, and am waiting to have the Internet installed. Due to various issues, this has been and is continuing to be delayed, and at this point it looks as though I may not have it installed until the end of the month now. During this time I won’t be able to […]

Taking A Short Break

Hey all, I’m taking a short break while I’m out of town for a few days. Posts will resume on Monday. In the meantime, keep submitting those posts! I’m hoping to see a nicely-sized queue when I return on the weekend. Thanks everyone for your patience and support! Thanks, Hanners Ellicott-Chatham, Creator, QueerMentalHealth.org

Thank You, Donors!

The fundraiser for my trip to New York to speak at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center about transgender access to mental health care has come to a close, and we exceed our goal, thanks to the generous people who contributed donations. I’d like to recognize the following people for their donations:

I want to also give a very special thank you to Yael Cohen for her very large donation of $694, which helped complete our goal!

Other donators who did not wish their amount to be listed, but still recognized, include:

  • Bran Trudeau

And finally, thank you to all the anonymous donators out there who supported this trip!

Sincerely,
Hanners Ellicott-Chatham,
Creator, QueerMentalHealth.org

Help Hanners represent QMH.org in New York!

Hey everybody! I’ve been offered an opportunity to speak at an event at Callen-Lorde in NYC about trans and queer mental health. The flight from YVR to JFK is somewhat expensive, though, and as I am currently struggling with poverty, I’m asking people for a little help so I can make this trip. It would […]

New Articles 5 Days a Week!
